Hi, I’m Charles 👋🏻.

Over twenty years ago, I embarked on my journey into the realm of digital product design.

During those formative years, I witnessed the immense possibilities of revolutionizing product experiences. This pivotal experience paved the way for an enriching career, marked by collaborations with pioneering tech startups, globally renowned brands, and purpose-driven organizations that ignite inspiration.

Throughout this transformative path, I have discovered my passion, honed my skills, and uncovered the profound motivations that drive me forward.

As an alumnus of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I am currently at the helm of the Consumer UX design team at Amazon Pharmacy, leading a group of talented designers with a mission to establish the most customer-centric pharmacy on Earth.

My journey in design has been diverse and rewarding. Prior to my current role, I served as the Senior Director of Product Design for the Openfit streaming at-home fitness platform. Overseeing a passionate team of designers in the fitness and wellness space, we strived to enhance people’s lives through innovative digital experiences.

Before joining Openfit, I held the position of VP of Product Design at PADI Worldwide, a prestigious organization known as the world’s leading scuba instructor and diver certifying agency. My time there allowed me to foster a deep understanding of user needs in the realm of underwater exploration.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with prominent companies such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Thomson Reuters, and Sony Music Entertainment. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to work with renowned creative agencies like Lloyd Northover in London, Isobar in Boston, and RED Interactive in Los Angeles. During these experiences, I played a pivotal role in shaping the product strategy and design for global brands like adidas, HBO, Motorola, and Ferrari.

Rooted in formal training in physical product and industrial design, I’ve remained true to my passion for product design, infusing human-centered design principles into my work. My approach is both analytical and pragmatic, and I thrive on crafting innovative solutions to complex problems by leveraging data-informed design methods.

Originally from South Africa, my journey led me to the U.K. after college and eventually to the United States. I first settled in Boston, and now, I enjoy the sunshine and creativity of Southern California.
